presentation...

Ugh!  Presentation.  I don't hate it.  But I don't like it either.  :)

I remember while I was still at college, there were quite a number of assignments that requires presentation or are in a form of presentations.  If it's a group work and not all members are require to present, I'll be the first to back out.  Luckily, my members are understanding and let me off the hook  For some reason, my group members are usually the same guys so they know who I am.  Besides, these guys are good.  Very good.  But if it's individual work or all group members have to present, well then I've got no choice now do I?

In that case, everytime before it's my turn, I get nervous.  My nails started to turn purple and hands turned cold.  I can see the color of my veins around my hand.  The purplish, bluish ones.  My friends would start laughing at me.  LOL  Then, right after the presentation, my body temperature immediately return to normal and my nails start to turn back to its original color and my hands sorta “melts”.

At first, I would speed through my slides and the comments I received from my lecturers would be ''presentation too short''  I remember in my public speaking class, my lecturer will always say ''too short, my dear.  Only three minutes''.  LOL   But as time goes by, I started to slow down to hit the 10 – 15 minutes mark (but still barely hitting 10 minutes) and talked  a little louder.  That's funny really.  I thought I have a loud voice.  How come my lecturers sometimes said I'm too soft??  Hmm...

Why do I suddenly recall my presentation assignments?  That's because I have a presentation tomorrow.  It has been a long time since I last delivered a presentation.  Two years, maybe.  So I need to recall back what I did for these presentations to prepare myself for tomorrow.  This presentation is a short notice.  It wasn't originally required.  My lecturer only announced in Tuesday.  Sigh.

I'm not sure what will happen tomorrow.  I had very little preparation.  I don't even know where to begin...Let's hope there's no Q&A.  That's like 10 times worse.  LOL

P.S To make matter worse, tomorrow, I think I would probably be presenting in my work meeting. -_-''

a month after parking commotion...

I believe it's almost a month now since I last talked about the parking fuss.  Next Monday or Tuesday will repeat itself the scenarios of what happened on the same date last month.  The company is already buzzing about runners or making groups of five.

During these four weeks, I saw many people used different techniques to evade parking fees.  Some parked at the empty areas in between buildings, some parked at the “haunted houses”, some parked in front of the houses near the residential areas, some stopped driving to work, some illegally parked at motorcycle's parking lots and the list goes on.  Seeing the drivers' efforts to evade, the officials not only did not stop charging but made it harder by drawing more yellow lines all over the place. LOL

I think we can complain all we want but at the end of the day, we're not the ones who make the call.  If we do not wish to end up paying hefty sum of love letters, we gotta do what we gotta do -> wake up early in the morning on the 23rd or 24th each month to get that small little seasonal parking coupon that will make life each month a little easier to live.  LOL At least, for me my lifestyle isn't all that much affected except that I have 42 bucks less to spend and occasionally wake up at like five in the morning.  I was going to show you my seasonal parking coupon but I don't want to risk letting the world to know my car plate number.  >.<  I know I promised to show pictures of my car but I haven't got the time to take good shots of it yet.

Hmm...perhaps my post title isn't that accurate...

my usual mornings...

Listening to Toshiro Masuda's 'Morning' had inspired me to write this post. >.<

I don't wake up very early in the mornings, even if it's a working day.  I'll spare you the details of whatever happens at home.  It's the typical normal human's early mornings.  Contrary to popular belief, I'm not an alien.  :P

It's what I see while I'm on my way to work that's interesting.  I realized that most of the day, I face the same scenarios and see the same people.  I guess human runs like a robot sometimes, very task-oriented.  I'm not exactly sure why but I sometimes find myself smiling at these “friends” of mine.  Technically, they aren't my friends but secretly, I know a tiny bit of their lives.  Sorry, I don't remember their faces clearly as well.  Just that when I see them, I know one thing they usually do in the mornings.  Wow, this sounds like privacy invasion.  Hey, I know it UNINTENTIONALLY okay.  They just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.  Haha...

Now, what's so interesting?  Almost never fail, there will be this huge, ugly, yellow tractor/excavator thing driving few cars in front me.  You know, these machines are slooooow.  Then, I notice the cars will start playing police-catch-thief with these machines, trying to overtake it.  I feel like I'm watching a scene from The Fast and The Furious when Vin Diesel & gang are trying to hijack a trailer.  -_-”  But I'm just as impatient as these car drivers.  If I'm the one directly behind the machine, I would also do the same.  It's scary to be behind it.  Who knows, the “shovel” may fall on my car.  Muahaha...

On the other side of the road, after I cross the only traffic light junction on my journey, I'll see a guy in his workout gear.  A singlet and a short..and a duffle bag.  Very similar to the attire of an Olympic sprinter.  I admire his dedication to fitness, something which I lack and wish to have.  But I find one thing he tends do while waiting for the cars to drive by.  Smoking.  That's so not a healthy thing to do.  Hehe...So much for my admiration of his dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

Then, I'll usually see a lady in a Vios.  While waiting for the traffic light to turn green, she'll expertly applied her makeup on.  Seriously, she'll be looking into this tiny mirror on her hand (or is she using the side mirror?), vigorously patting the powder on her face.  She dons a afro-like curls, with a hair band to push the curls up.  Haha.. I find myself smiling whenever I see her.  I would think a pig like me who loves to sleep, if I'm also into makeup and stuff, I'll probably ended up doing the very same in my own car.  But like my friend said, we who loves to sleep would NEVER wake up an hour earlier just to look good for a day.  I so agree with her.  I think we also would not have the energy to make it right.  I have trouble falling asleep.  So when I do sleep, I don't feel like waking up unless I have no choice.

Arriving at work, usually this aunty and I will be busy reverse-parking our cars at the same time.  We park at opposite lanes.  So if she moves forward, I'll stop.  If I move forward, she'll stop.  It's like we're trained to learn and accommodate each other's movement just to safely park our car at our usual lots.  Who knows someday we can participate in synchronize parking competition.  Haha...

So, yeah these are what I usually see on my typical weekday mornings.  Haha..some mornings huh?  All these before eight in the morning...

lack of sleep...

I haven't been able to get a good sleep since my sister fell ill.  I don't blame her.  She's probably just as tired as I am right now.  She has been working really hard on her new job that it scares me.  Gambateh-o, o-nee-san.  Haha..

But lack of sleep has its side effects.  Like I'll be having flu in the morning and my eyes are heavy.  I am half awake, attempting to work but my brain is asleep.  At times like this, even 10 cups of coffee wouldn't keep me awake.  Erm..I have never attempted 10 cups of coffee though..Haha.  Speaking of coffee, I think I saw an advertisement about Starbucks promotion in conjunction with Christmas..Hmm..Argh..where did that come from??!! You see, when I'm sleepy I lack focus and my mind started to wander off on its on..LOL..

Oh no..I'm yawning like almost every 10 seconds..Head is banging..Ear hurts...Wow.  It feels extremely cold this morning...Why?  Are all these symptoms of sleep deprived???  Where are the toothpicks to keep my eyes open when I needed them???

I'm so sleepy that my brain is so slow.  My handphone was vibrating and I was wondering who is hammering the nails???  Knock.  Knock.  Knock.  -_-"  This post is also so random...

It's already afternoon now...I'm not alive yet...LOL  My boss said that I look pale.  Yeah, that's cause I'm technically a zombie right now...

Starbucks promo...Should go..and..try....i....t....zzzzzzzzz

suddenly small...

My forever-naggy grandma complained about her TV in her room.  She said that the reception is very bad.  Reception bad?  You can always adjust the attenna right?  But you know how the older generation can be.  Reception bad = Spoilt. So, my mom switched the TV in the living room and her TV.  I think my grandma is greatly satisfied.  Everybody's happy.  Good ending.

Apparently, my grandma's TV is doing very well in the living room.  The reception isn't all that bad.  Very clear.  So no problem right?  She is happy with her “new” TV.  Ours is doing fine.  So when I was told about the incident, I shrugged it off as another one of my grandma's grand drama.  Change TV?  No big deal.  BUT little did I know that in a considerably spacious living room and you have a 14-inch TV, it's like so...so...small.  Haha.

Remember how I was so happy about National Geographic is now back on national television channel?  So, there I was sitting on the couch watching it yesterday.  On the small TV.  I had hard time adjusting to it.  I need to squint at the subtitles when I couldn't catch what the narrator was talking about.  Sitting very near the TV seems to be an option but it isn't good for me either.

Haha.  Anyways, I was just muffled by the size difference and how it can affect your experience when watching a program.  If this happens a week ago I wouldn't have notice.  Why?  Because I wouldn't be watching TV!  Haha.  Yeah, lame...

But you know what's the bonus from all this supposedly inconvenience??  My mom is finally getting a flat screen TV.  Muahaha.. Size?  The right size for a living room.
